What agents can buy
- Your existing plans. Every public, USD-priced plan is purchasable by agents. An agent pays the plan price, receives a freshly issued API key bound to that subscription, and uses it like any consumer. Periods are prepaid: when a period ends the agent is offered a renewal; nothing renews automatically. Plans are sold to agents by default — publishing plans is the consent.
- Pay per request. Optionally, price individual endpoints for keyless calls. The price is a fixed USD amount per successful request that you set on each endpoint. Requests answered with an upstream
5xxare not charged. - Pay-as-you-go. Agents can fund a balance with a wallet payment and subscribe to your pay-as-you-go plans; metering, tiers and formulas apply unchanged.
Enable pay-per-request
- Open the API in Studio → Details → Settings → Agent payments and turn the switch on. This is the master switch; it does nothing until at least one endpoint carries a price.
- Price endpoints: on an endpoint’s Details page set Agent price (USD per request), or select several endpoints on the Endpoints page and use Set agent price. Endpoints without a price are not sold per request (agents still reach them with a key from a plan).
- Prices are live immediately. The platform enforces a minimum and maximum per request (shown next to the field); prices are in USD and settled in USDC.
/v1 for an endpoint defined as /v1/), duplicate the endpoint under that path from the Endpoints page (row menu → Duplicate…): documentation, billing and the agent price come along.
Where agents show up
- Subscriptions and Transactions list agents like any customer, with an Agent badge and a short wallet identity instead of an email. Filter by Agents to see only them. Per-request buyers appear as a Per request row per API: no plan price and no period, just the calls they paid for.
- Transactions: a plan purchase is an ordinary paid transaction. Per-request usage is closed monthly into one aggregated transaction per agent and API, exactly like a pay-as-you-go period, with its own sale document.
- E-mail: you get the usual new-subscription e-mail when an agent buys or claims one of your plans, and one e-mail when an agent makes its first paid per-request call to your API.
- Payouts: plan purchases are ordinary paid subscriptions (periodic revenue); per-request and pay-as-you-go charges accrue like pay-as-you-go usage. The marketplace commission is the same as for every other sale.
- Analytics: per-key analytics work per agent purchase, because every purchase has its own key.
Discovery
Agent-payable APIs are listed onhttps://agents.jojapi.net and each API host publishes /.well-known/x402 and an annotated /openapi.json, which x402 directories index. Priced endpoints are also announced to the payment facilitator’s discovery layer on first settlement.
Reserved paths
/openapi.json, /.well-known/…, /_jojapi/… and /favicon.ico on your API host belong to the gateway: they serve the annotated OpenAPI document, the x402 discovery document, the agent commerce routes and your API’s logo as the host’s icon, without authentication. Endpoints cannot be documented on these paths, and an endpoint that already sits there is never reached by requests.
Policies
- Per-request prices are charged on
2xxand4xxupstream answers, never on5xx. - Free plans are never sold to agents. A wallet costs nothing, so a free plan would be unlimited free quota per identity; free plans stay under the marketplace’s abuse protection exactly as for human signups.
- Private APIs are closed to agents, as to any new customer: no offers, no catalog and no purchases while the visibility is Private. The switch and the prices stay saved and apply when the API becomes Unlisted or Public; agents that subscribed earlier keep renewing, exactly like human subscribers.
- An agent may hold several plans of the same API at once (each with its own key); the human “one subscription per API” rule does not apply to agents.
- Wallet payments are final. Goodwill refunds are handled by the marketplace as balance credits.
